Cradle Mountain Overland Track Tasmania Expedition

In May 2006, five intrepid friends set out to tackle the world renowned Overland Track from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair in Tasmania. We were from Perth, Western Australia and Queensland, both places with endless sunshine and nil snow. However some of the party had extensive trekking experience in cold weather, and we had spent months planning as best we could. Nothing could prepare us for the challenges that lay ahead. Please read on and enjoy these photos, but to get some sense of what it was like for us, sit in the freezer with the fan on, with your feet in a bucket of cold water while you click the mouse.

But before you do that, come with us for a brief tour of Tasmania as Jacob and Tim spent seven days touring waiting for the rest of the party to arrive.
