Day 26

At long last my suburb has a properly wrecked car in the driveway. No engine, doors off, and sitting on the ground.

Today I replaced the noisy wheel hub bearing in the Auto by swapping the hub over from the the same part from the Ultima, and now the nasty noise has gone from the car. Yay. It's much quieter and turned the Auto into a very nice car to drive around.

Given the bearing alone was $121, and all it cost me was a drive over to mechanic Jim's to borrow his rattle gun as mine wasn't powerful enough, it was a good fix. I also replaced the overhead interior globes in all the cars, and gave the Auto some new windscreen wipers.

Brian's patient and observant wife gave me some tips on touching up the paint work to get the best sale price.
